As a child, I read Harriet the Spy and was certain my future was to become a spy, using my knowledge, skill, and subtlety to fight for the good guys. As an adult, I still passionately want to help the “good guys”, but the good guys are instead people who will benefit from my knowledge and skill in addressing both the practical, objective aspect of finances, as well as the subjective, emotional and value driven aspects of money in their lives. I therefore settled on a career as a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner TM instead of as secret agent.

I grew up with my mom, a single mother who set an example for me as a career woman. She showed me I could understand and make my own financial decisions. She inspired me to empower others to lead the life they envision.

I’ve worked with Protected Investors of America (PIA) for 10+ years as a financial planner and investment advisor. Before working at PIA, I was a Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab. I am also active in the community, serving on the board of the East Bay Financial Planning Association and on the FPA NorCal Conference Committee.

I’m passionate about continual learning and I am always looking for ways to provide more value for my clients. I am a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner (CFP TM). I have an MBA in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Occidental College. In 2017, I also obtained a Certificate in Financial Therapy from Kansas State University.

Personally, I live in Orinda, and I love to hike, run, travel, bake bread, read, and spend time with friends and family (husband Brian and kids Andie and Kati).
